The Church Building & Facilities
Helensburgh Baptist Church is a well established congregation. The present building was erected in 1886 and is in the centre of the town.
The Church has been just been refurbished at a cost of some £200,000. This was very much done on the basis of faith. The aim was to improve access, create more usable space and upgrade services. The building now has a remodelled Sanctuary, a new entrance (accessed by a ramp), new toilets including a toilet for the disabled, a new modern kitchen, a downstairs hall and a vestry. There are now two big rooms, a tea/coffee making facility and a toilet upstairs.
The Congregation
There are presently some 80 members and around 40 adherents. Typically, about 70 people attend the morning service: some 40 people plus attend the evening service. The Sunday School attracts some 40 children and the crèche/very young children's facility caters for, typically, some dozen plus
