During the Week

Bible Study

A home fellowship group and a bible study group, held at the Church, meet bi-weekly.

Prayer

A prayer group meets every other week at the Church: other prayer sessions are held e.g. before the Sunday morning service

Womens' Fellowship

We have a very active fellowship

Teen Challenge

The meeting held on Friday 10th March was well attended by various members of local churches. A DVD of City Hit 2006 was shown prior to Roy Lees (Teen Challenge co-ordinator for Strathclyde Region), and Pastor Jim Turner from Alexandria Victory Christian Centre, giving in-depth information on the work of Teen Challenge. The response and support was positive, enabling us to now proceed in bringing a bus to Helensburgh.

A small committee has been formed, and it has been decided that a launch will take place on Friday 26th May 2006 in St Columba's Church Hall at 7.30pm. Roy Lees will bring a bus, a praise band and speakers who have successfully completed the Teen Challenge rehabilitation programme, to give their testimonies.

Please come and support this evening, and if you know anyone who has any personal or family experience of addiction, please extend this invitation to them. I would like to thank you for your prayers, and many thanks to all who have contributed so generously to this initiative of the Lord.

Church Walks

Several walks are arranged on bank holidays and other convenient times. They are popular with all ages.

Youth

We are involved in several youth activities and the Church, in conjunction with the other town Churches, supports two youth workers who are employed by the Helensburgh Area Christian Youth Project.

Spiritual Development and Outreach

A number of new initiatives are underway to promote Christ and fulfil our mission obligations. We have held Alpha courses aimed at people both in and outside of the Church; we now run Christianity Explored courses. An after school youngsters club, run by experienced teachers, has started. The Sunday Schools aims to and indeed attracts youngsters whose parents do not attend the church.

Mission Support

The Church provides regular support to BMS, the Oasis Trust (India), Friends International, Tear Fund and when/where needed elsewhere.

T+U

We meet from 2pm to 4pm in the church on Friday afternoons for tea and a chat.
